portescap india is on the move

From traveling to New Delhi for Medicall 2022 to our visits to CCQC ’22 in Maharashtra and the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, September proved to be an incredibly busy, yet incredibly fruitful, month for the Portescap India team! Follow along and explore these travels below.

Portescap at Medicall 2022 – New Delhi, India

The Portescap team was thrilled to travel to New Delhi, India from September 17th – 19th to exhibit at the 31st edition of Medicall 2022, one of India’s largest B2B medical equipment expos. Bringing together hospital decision-makers, medical equipment suppliers, and other parties in the medical applications space, the show worked to facilitate long-term partnerships and collaboration between global medical equipment brands and end users. Portescap exhibited at Booth C35 with a cross-functional team comprised of representatives from sales, engineering, research and development, and marketing, ensuring that we were able to provide robust support for visitors across all possible business areas!

Our miniature motor technologies are heavily leveraged in the medical field, including the Ultra EC™ range of brushless DC motors, which deliver the high speed, high torque, and balanced performance necessary for critical applications; custom-engineered Surgical Motor Solutions, with sterilizable motors and controllers designed to withstand up to 3,000+ autoclave cycles; and the 32ECF brushless DC slotted flat motor, Portescap’s newest innovation for applications where power-packed performance is a necessity and space is at a premium. Specific medical application examples which utilize our motion solutions include infusion systems, surgical power tools, surgical robotics, and respiratory care.

We look forward to seeing everyone at Medicall in 2023!

Portescap at CCQC 2022 – Maharashtra, India

The testing and quality capabilities of Portescap India are robust. From our multiple ISO certifications (including ISO 9001:2014 and ISO 13485), 8 Discipline (8D) quality problem-solving, virtual and in-person audit facility, and focus on following the Altra Business System tenets, we take quality extremely seriously. A Quality Circle (QC) is another example of this dedication. A QC is a group of workers, nominated voluntarily, who are completing the same (or similar) work and who meet regularly to identify, analyze, and solve work-related problems. We’re excited to announce that the Portescap team has achieved yet another milestone in our QC journey by winning all four categories at CCQC ’22 (the Chapter Convention on Quality Concepts) competition at the state level in Maharashtra! Held on September 17-18th, each of our four teams (23 attendees in total from across different product lines) who competed won the Gold Award:

  • Team JOSH - Represented the Can Stack Motor Assembly Line
  • Team AARAMBH - Represented the Stator Component Line
  • Team PRERNA - Represented the DMM Motor Assembly Line
  • Team UMMEED - Represented the Tube Gluing Sub-Assembly Line

We’re sending a huge thanks to our enthusiastic QC teams not only for their participation, but for their dedication in identifying, analyzing, and resolving quality issues through utilizing the DMAIC approach quality issues – and subsequently achieving remarkable improvements. The Quality Circle is truly a testimony of our commitment to driving quality culture across the organization and is something that we look forward to continuing for years to come.
